Concrete and Aggregate Construction Materials Testing
The Thrasher Group North Carolina offers construction materials testing for concrete and aggregates from our AASHTO and CCRL accredited laboratory in Gastonia.
Our highly skilled lab technicians offer concrete field testing (conducted by an ACI Certified Concrete Field Technician Grade 1); concrete lab testing (conducted by an ACI Certified Concrete Strength Testing Technician); aggregate testing (conducted by an ACI Certified Aggregate Testing Technician Level 1); and special inspection, including field and shop welding inspections (conducted by an AWS Certified Welding Inspector). Compaction testing with a nuclear density gauge is available as well.
We pride ourselves on being able to offer services that our clients need. If you have any questions about what your project requires or the services we offer, reach out to us – we are happy to help however we can.
Material testing for concrete may include field testing, laboratory testing, slump test, air content, temperature testing, strength testing, etc. Material testing for aggregate may include lab tests on fine aggregate, gradation/grading testing, sieve analysis of fine aggregate, density test, nuclear compaction testing, testing moisture content, etc.
Special inspections are defined by the International Building Code (IBC) as the “inspection of construction requiring the expertise of an approved special inspector in order to ensure compliance with the code and the approved construction documents.” Special inspection services include testing and inspection of the materials, installation, fabrication, erection or placement of components and connections to ensure compliance with the code, referenced standards adopted by the code, and approved construction documents.
